Cameron Falls
Saturday was a gorgeous day here. The sun was out and it was warm. Still a bit cool, but really nice. There are lots of campgrounds, day use areas, and hiking trails along the Ingraham trail, a road out of Yellowknife, and Megan and I went to Cameron Falls on Saturday. It's a beautiful hiking trail that goes up and down rocks and hills and around trees and follows a path to the falls. At one point it would feel warm and spring-ish, then we'd turn the corner and have to walk through snow to get down the hill. Megan ended up getting a soaker before the day was over, or in her words, swamp feet. So anyway we went in and along the way took some pictures and when we got to the falls took a lot more. Then we found this place where there was a giant crack in the rock. Meg went in it and I went above it and got some good pictures. I'll add one or two here when I get them from her. So after hanging around there soaking in the scenery we headed out. It wasn't until we got to the start again that I realized I didn't have my camera. So we turned around and walked the trail...again. We retraced our steps and I thought hard about where I could have dropped it. We got to the end and back out again and we still didn't find it. So later that day we put an ad in the paper and on the radio. I don't have it back, but you never know it might still show up. Luckily I only had pictures on there from that day, and I brought another little camera. So all is not lost, but it was kinda sad that I lost it on my second day here. But all in all it was a good day. I'll post a picture soon :)
