It's June 20, the night before the longest day of the year, and I am staying up late to watch the sunset and sunrise. Tomorrow is Aboriginal Day, so I can even sleep in later tomorrow since I have the day off work. It has been getting lighter for longer now all summer, and this is the peak. Every passing day adds 6-7 minutes more daylight. After the solstice we will lose that much daylight each day. So I figured I'd document the occasion. Who knows if
I'll ever get the chance to see this again. These are a couple of pictures taken just a few minutes ago, at 1:15 am from the backyard of my Aunt and Uncle's place.
According to the Weather Network, the sunset was at 11:39pm and the sunrise will be at 3:39am. Let's see how it goes. I'll post more pictures as the night goes on.
